The Handbook for Fund Advisors should answer the majority of questions you might have about the fund you established here at The Portsmouth Community Foundation.
THE PORTSMOUTH COMMUNITY FOUNDATION was awarded the Certificate of Compliance for National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations. National Standards were developed by the Council on Foundations to distinguish community foundations from other philanthropic vehicles, build the capacity of community foundations to carry out their missions, and assist the field with self-regulation in a manner viewed positively by the Internal Revenue Service.
 
Also provided is the Fund Advisor Suggestion Form that you should use to suggest distributions from the fund for which you serve as advisor.
Please remember, distributions from Donor Advised Funds cannot be used to fulfill a pledge you made to a charity or other written commitments you made to charitable organizations and cannot be provided to a charity that will provide a benefit to you (such as a meal at an event).
The Foundation Board of Directors will consider and evaluate all suggestions for distributions from funds, but the recommendations will be soley advisory and the Foundation is not bound by such recommendations.
The "Eligible Organizations List" contains organizations to which The Foundation has made a grant within the last year. If you want to make a distribution to an organization not contained in this list, The Foundation will perform its due diligence prior to taking any action on a distribution to such organization.
